House Beautiful Collab

Hidden shelving and a richly veined marble add dazzle to a marvelous midwestern kitchen designed for entertaining. This breath-taking French-Modern home was featured in House Beautiful.

Some designers feel the challenge of trying to convince clients to make design choices that are outside their personal comfort zone.

But when a designer is presented the opportunity to work with a client who is not only creator herself, but comes to the project with a strong sense of style and who is eager to learn and grow through the process, the outcome can be breathtaking.

That is how Becky Hilliard of Cella Jane Blog and Laura McCroskey of McCroskey Interiors came to produce one of the most widely publicized and admired home interior projects of 2021 in Kansas City.

Featured on the cover of the 2022 House Beautiful Kitchens Edition.

As a creator herself, the client was well-familiar with exactly the aesthetic she wanted.

French Modern selections governed the design, executed in soft neutrals, Calacatta Vagli marble surfaces, bleached woods, and top-of-the-line finishes on all hardware.

Drag the arrow to open and close the sliding marble panels.

Everything within reach, without the clutter.

Sliding marble panels behind the range allow for storage of spices, oils and stovetop needs to be close at hand, without the look of clutter.

Open, the items are a short reach away. Closed, they are concealed by elegant panels of Calacatta Vagli marble for a clean, seamless look.

A pantry that dreams are made of.

The pantry runs the length of the kitchen, behind the cooking zone and easily accessible from both the kitchen and the back patio, creating ease of motion between food prep, cooking and both indoor and outdoor presentation.

With thoughtfully designed shelving and cabinetry throughout the long pantry, organization becomes effortless and easy to maintain, while keeping everything needed for food prep readily available.
